Elmira J. Powell, PA-C
Physicians Assistant
Ms. Powell is a native of Raleigh, NC. She received her B.S. degree in health education and M.Ed. degree in counseling at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She obtained her medical education as a physician assistant at Duke University. Training as a physician assistant encompasses all of the major specialties of medicine and primary care. Her work experience includes women’s health, public health, primary care, and emergency medicine. She maintains national certification in her field and is a certified Robotic Surgical Assistant.
Ms. Powell is Past President of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Vicki L. Latham, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Ms. Latham is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a B.S. in nursing. She began her professional career in 1983 at The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and has served in clinical, educational, and management positions. In 1988, Vicki obtained her Masters Degree in Neonatal-Perinatal Nursing at Emory University and returned as Clinical Nurse Specialist in labor and delivery at Moses Cone and The Women’s Hospital of Greensboro. While continuing to work at The Women’s Hospital, she obtained her certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from the Frontier School of Mid-Wifery and Family Nursing. Ms. Latham began practicing at Central Carolina OB/GYN in April 1996.

Nancy Prothero, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Nancy Prothero is originally from Detroit, Michigan but has lived in many different parts of the United States. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1993. She worked as a labor and delivery, postpartum and nursery nurse in both a community hospital and a tertiary care center. In 1999 she received a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing as a Certified Nurse Midwife from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated with honors.
Nancy has more than 18 years of diverse experiences, working with woman throughout the life span. She has extensive experience in low risk and high risk obstetrics as well as gynecology. She has been a preceptor for advance practice nursing students as well as OB/GYN and Family Practice residents. Nancy loves being part of birth process and helping woman have satisfying birth experiences.
Nancy is married and has three daughters and one granddaughter. She enjoys the outdoors, exercising and spending time with family.
Lori Clemmons, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Ms. Clemmons is a native of Jamestown, NC. She received her BSN degree at East Tennessee State University and obtained her midwifery education through Frontier University in Hyden, Kentucky. Her professional career started in 1992 where she was a registered nurse in labor and delivery until she obtained her Master’s Degree in Midwifery in 2008. She joined Central Carolina OB/Gyn in June 2017

Ellis Greer, WHNP-BC, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Ellis Greer is from Athens, Georgia but has lived in many states throughout the east coast. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Promotion from the University of Georgia in 2013. She then received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Georgia Regents University (now Augusta University) in 2015. She is a graduate of Frontier Nursing University and has now obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Midwifery specialty and a Post Master’s Certificate in Women’s Health Care. She began working with Central Carolina OB/GYN in April 2019.
Ellis is passionate about birth and women’s health and wants to help ensure that all women receive the care they need. She is married and has a very spoiled dog but no children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, baking, and crafting in her spare time.
Jade Montana, FNP, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Jade Montana resides in Chapel Hill, NC. She began her professional career as a Nurse in 2005 with the goal of being well-rounded both clinically and educationally. Her Nursing background encompassed: neonatal intensive care, postpartum, labor and delivery, newborn nursery, pediatrics, and emergency room nursing. She practiced for three years as a Nurse Practitioner in urgent care as well as family practice.
She obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2005 from Alamance Community College. From there, she continued to pursue her goal of becoming well-rounded and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (2011), Master’s Degree in Nursing Education (2012), and Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Health Care (2013), all from Western Governors University. She then obtained a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner (2015) from The University of Chapel Hill and Post-Masters Certificate as a Certified Nurse Midwife (2019) from East Carolina University. Jade is now able to implement her personal philosophies and her passion for helping each family unit have the safest birthing process possible. She is an expert in active listening, women’s empowerment, and is devoted to holistic family-centered care. She encourages education and supports informed decision making about an individual’s healthcare and birthing process.
Jade joined Central Carolina OB/GYN on May 1, 2019. Jade enjoys her non-structured life with her husband, son, and stepdaughter. She savors the adventures each day holds, and finds enjoyment in abstract painting and anything water.
Katie Page, CNM, MSN, FACNM
Certified Nurse Midwife
Katie Page is a native Texan who lives in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has served as a midwife since 2010 after completing her Master of Science in nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, TN. She is in full-scope practice in Virginia serving women and families in wellness care, gynecology, infertility and reproductive health, sexual health, and pregnancy/postpartum. In 2019, she joined the team at Central Carolina OB/GYN to care for women and families at The Women’s Hospital.
Katie is the President of the Virginia Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the Chair of the ACNM Professional Liability Section. She also serves as the Data Center Co-Lead for the national Healthy Birth Initiative: Reducing Primary Cesarean Collaborative. In 2019, she was honored as a Fellow of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Katie is supported by her husband and 2 daughters.
